The Halstead Press Prize for the Best Reject

Many great books have been rejected by publishers. Publication is not necessarily related to literary quality.

Canberra’s new publisher, Halstead Press, wants to unearth manuscripts by local writers that have slipped through the nets.

The inaugural Halstead Press Prize for the Best Reject was awarded Alan Gould for his as yet unpublished creative memoir Life Drawing.

The prize was judged by Brian Cook Manuscript Appraisal Agency.  For information about the services provided by the Agency, click here.
